Matthew & Bethany

“So the portrait is of my partner, Matthew, and I (of course). So just to brief you a bit about him: He has brown eyes and short brown hair (his hair is more or less the same cut now as it’s in the picture of us wearing our masks).  The loveliest long eyelashes. His hair does this cute curl thing in the front (which he does not like at all, but I very much do). If you’re into Astrology (I am!), he’s a Cancer boi. Matt is half-Portuguese and very proud of it as well.

Matthew recently got into film photography (something we both love a lot). He’s currently using a Chinon camera. If I imagine anything added to the portrait then it’s a film camera hanging around his side – if you’re perhaps able to add this little feature?

Matthew has a blue cardigan with green on the sleeves (photo of him wearing it attached!) Maybe you can have him wear something similar to this? He loves music and the outdoors above most things. He plays some guitar and has a keen interest in indie/rock/alternative bands. He loves anything hiking/mountain related/ and the bushveld. His favourite colour is blue.

We both love love love Skyrim. I don’t know – you can make of this what you’d like. Just a random afterthought.

Myself on the other hand. I have more hazel/green eyes. I have long, wavy hair – a brownish hair colour with a ginger tint. It’s especially noticeable in the sun (you can refer to the pictures). I have some light freckles. My right nostril is pierced and I wear a golden hoop. Also! I always wear the same jewellery every single day (golden hoop earrings and a golden scarab necklace [will add pictures]). Perhaps you can incorporate these? I have a small bee tattoo on my left shoulder and I like to wear a little glitter around my eyes.

Again, if you’re into astrology, I’m a Pisces.

My favourite colour is a forest-green. My interests lie in history (I’m majoring in ancient history), books, films and just all art forms really. Whereas Matthew likes the mountains and bushveld, I’m much more of an ocean person (though I’m terribly scared of it). I like crisp coasts with cliffs and lighthouses.

Regarding the background: I’m really not too sure about what I had in mind. Maybe you can play around with some of the elements I mentioned above? Though, I really like the background for a couple you did – Nidele & Rion. I think it’s really great. Something foresty with a coastal feature? I love the idea of fog/ clouds as both Matt and I are wintery babies. Or even a foresty/mountain feature with fog/clouds. I’m open to any ideas you might have!” – Bethany
